Waterside Archers
Set on the South coast within the beautiful New Forest, Waterside Archers boasts an impressive and ever growing membership. Our archers embrace all traditions of shooting and bow style; from the instantly recognisable Longbow to the rather more modern Compound Bow and the bow of the Olympics - the Recurve. We offer outdoor shooting all year round at our World Archery competition – standard range at Exbury, and two evening sessions indoors during the winter, at Gang Warily, where we offer a varied programme of indoor rounds, including Portsmouth, FITA 18 and 25, Worcester and Vegas. At our Exbury range, we have a permanent Clout course, and Wand by arrangement, along side our fully marked 100 yrd (imperial and metric) target range. The outdoor range, and our foam targets, are accessible 24/7 as long as there are at least 2 adult members shooting and sufficient daylight, except when we are hosting or holding an official competition. The outdoor range is wheelchair accessible, including the toilets, and car parking is plentiful, and very close to the range itself.Official club sessions during the winter outside is Sunday mornings from 10.00, and in addition, during the summer are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6.00pm. Indoor sessions are from 8 to 10.00pm on Tuesday and 7pm to 9pm on Friday @ Gang Warily. The use of all facilities is included in your membership fees.We currently now have 6 qualified Level 1 archery GB coaches in the club. Wednesday outdoors or Tuesday indoors is our general coaching session, but you can arrange a specific session with one of the coaches at a different time if you prefer. We also hold a number of beginners courses through the year, and some intermediate sessions for recent joiners or returners. If there is something you want to achieve with your archery, whether that be a little extra advice now and then to stop the odd bad habit creeping in, or you want to start competing locally, regionally or nationally, we can offer advice and support to help you get there. The club has over 100 members, which span all ages and bow types. Every Sunday we stop for tea, biscuits and a chat for 15 minutes or so, and we have a number of social events, and informal competitions, through out the year. Dont forget you can always give the 252 club round a go. We work hard, as a club, to create an open and welcoming atmosphere for new and existing members alike.
